FIRST DATE AT LIBRARY LEADS TO ENGAGEMENT

Kathleen Carroll & Shea Oakley will be married Friday, June 18, 2010!

A description of their first date according to Kathleen:

Shea & I had our first face-to-face meeting, the start of our "first date,” at the Red Bank Public Library on Saturday, October 17th at 4:08 PM. On February 22, 2010, Shea proposed to me right here in Red Bank at my place of work, K. Hovnanian Homes!

Shea and I were “introduced” in late August, 2009 via a Facebook Group. We wrote to each other online for about 8 weeks before meeting in person. That exciting Saturday, Shea & I decided that due to our mutual love of learning, and on account of the steady raindrops outside, we would meet at your location.

We enjoyed the next 8-1/2 hours together in Red Bank – painting pottery at “A Time To Kiln,” dining at “The Eurasian Eatery,” and finally savoring chocolate cake at “The Americana Diner.” (The kicked us out of the last 2 places … most politely, of course. In fact, unbeknownst to us at the time, the manager/server of the Eurasian Eatery actually left to drive the chef home and then came back to allow us more time to talk after closing, since she suspected it was our first date. We had completely lost track of the time during our conversation and were most grateful for her kindness!)

We will forever be grateful for the Red Bank Public Library and for the Red Bank area in general for providing excellent venues for our first day together in person.

RED BANK LIBRARY IS A GREAT PLACE TO MEET!!!
