THE STORY OF EDGAR SAWTELLE

This debut novel by David Wroblewski is not universally loved.

Those who read it all the way through disagreed about whether the book "ended" and whether the ending was the one they had hoped for. (some didn't get past the first few chapters)

But who could resist a Sawtelle Dog after reading Wroblewski's engaging descriptions of these amazing animals?

I think the book is beautifully written. But I was a little disappointed in the ending. The last half of the book you fly along on a journey with a boy and his dogs, just hoping it will be okay....
