PLAY BALL!

Each month, the circulation staff selects a topic of interest to customers and displays books, movies, music, etc. on that subject. The last topic - the Irish in America - was very well received.

The current topic is BASEBALL - so have a look!

RED BANK AS A LITERARY CAPITAL?

What a great thought!

I took this title from the local paper, TriCity News, March 12, 2009, Vol 10 Issue 26. In this issue they published an interesting article about authors coming to Red Bank. And these authors are being brought to Red Bank by Kim Widener and Jacquie Dalton-Fiorito as part of their company "Book It".

Check out their website and their upcoming "book it" events:

http://www.bookitevents.net

Their last event was a well attended party at the Two River Theatre - Robert Wagner (yes, that Hollywood celebrity and husband of the late Natalie Wood) has written a book called "Pieces of My Heart" and he was toast and host of the evening. The price of the ticket included a copy of the book, a party and chance to chat with Robert Wagner.

Right here in Red Bank.

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME STARTS 3/8/09

did you know it is NOT Daylight Savings Time? One of the librarians corrected me today.

Anyway, it starts Sunday! Hooray! That means that it will just be getting dark around 7:pm Sunday night (weather permitting and all).

Missing an hour of sleep is worth an hour of daylight at the end of the day. At least for me.
